Health & Safety Manager – Residential Construction

€80-85k  + Transport + Bonus

Required for expanding resdiential developer with 7+ sites in Wicklow & Dublin.

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager/Senior Safety Officer to lead health and safety across our residential construction projects. This is a hands-on, site-focused role requiring strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to improving safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Construction Safety & Health Plans.
• Maintain a strong presence across construction sites.
• Promote a positive safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
• Vet subcontractors and review RAMS and safety documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Monitor high-risk activities including working at height, scaffolding, excavations, lifting, plant and timber-frame construction.
• Manage inductions, access control and permit-to-work systems.
• Lead toolbox talks and subcontractor safety meetings.
• Liaise with the HSA and manage inspection follow-up actions.
• Report safety performance to senior management.
• Stop or suspend unsafe work where serious risks are identified.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years’ construction health & safety experience, ideally in residential construction.
• Recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction legislation.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and site safety.
• Practical understanding of construction sequencing and site risks.
• Trade, engineering or technical construction experience is an advantage.
• Timber-frame and traditional masonry experience beneficial.
