This is a critical role ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance on a 24/7 basis. Key Responsibilities Operate the plant and optimise process parameters. • Coordinate with field personnel from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure smooth plant operations. • Act as the daily point of contact for the National Control Centre (NCC). • Operate the EDIL system daily; receive and act on NCC instructions; log grid-related testing delays. • Measure, monitor and record various process parameters; maintain plant and shift logs. • Carry out daily inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring no abnormal noises, leaks or odours. • Perform and support scheduled maintenance and equipment overhauls (generators, boilers,centrifuges, pumps, etc). • Ensure that equipment for all systems remain operational and regularly maintained. • Support and train Operators during shifts and help resolve operational issues. • Ensure the correct execution of Operator duties and shift schedules. • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in key areas (control room, engine hall, workshop, etc.). • Check stock levels of consumables (fuel, oil, chemicals) and manage inventory if materials and tools. • Preserve and properly store technical documentation, schedules, spare part lists, and service orders. • Comply with and enforce safety and hygiene regulations. • Contribute to the implementation of Quality Policy and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System Requirements Technical/vocational training in electrical and mechanical systems. Practical certification (e.g. Merchant Navy operator or engine room technician). Experience as a plant operator or shift supervisor in power generation facilities .
