Project Quantity Surveyor
Duration: Permanent Start: Immediately
Our client is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and diligent Project Quantity Surveyor with 7 years+
work experience to join their experienced team. The candidate will ideally have experience working
on Public & Private Sector Projects, functioning within a quantity surveying department and with
a good understanding of the difference between cost and value.

Responsibilities of the Project Quantity Surveyor but not limited to: -
• Perform the full commercial function and controls on a project.
• Preparation of internal costs / value reports on a quarterly basis
• Preparation and management of subcontractor’s, supplier’s and material procurement
schedules
• Responsibility for preparing and agreeing monthly progress valuations
• Budget control / materials management / prelims monitoring
• Preparation of cost reports and projections
• Ability to negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers with a view to agree final accounts
• Contractually aware using RIAI and Public Forms of Contract
• Preparation and agreement of Final Accounts
• Proficient in Agreed Rules of Measurement and preparation of bills of quantities
• Preparation and agreement of Contract variations and estimates
Requirements of the Project Quantity Surveyor are as follows:
• Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Have at least 10 years’ experience
• Experience working towards tight deadlines and budgets, dealing with interim payments
and accounts
• Good client relationship skills
Desired Skills and Attributes of the Intermediate Quantity Surveyor are:
• Excellent IT skills, in particular advanced Excel with a keen interest to develop further skills
• Knowledge of Buildsoft or equivalent all desirable and advantageous
• Good communicator and analytical capabilities
• Willingness to show initiative and drive in addition to being a team player
• Well-presented and professional with a flexible approach to work
