Buyer - Property Developer - Surrey
£35-40K + car allowance + benefits (detailed below)

The Role
They are looking for a driven, methodical, and amiable professional to work under the Head of Commercial at the headquarters in Staines upon Thames. A team player who can proactive is required.
Responsibilities
- Tracking and procuring materials for various sites
- Working with the site teams with procurement programmes and call-offs
- Supporting head of commercial with tender packages and tender chasing
- Compiling tenders received and presenting to the head of commercial
- Chase monthly valuations
- Carrying out site visits to meet with the site teams
- Creating buying bible and working with supply chain to get competitive rates
- Report Procurement & QS updates in weekly Build Team meeting
- Take-offs and quantity-certain packages
- Support company culture and value with external subcontractors and supply chain
Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in a similar role or at the level of Quantity Surveyor or Buying
- Must have a full understanding of current market conditions and rates
- Be familiar with the use of digital measurement and estimating software
- Have a good commercial and contractual awareness with a good understanding of correct procurement methods
- Good negotiating skills
- Must be able to control cost to complete on all trades and on all provisions to ensure live cost certainly
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate the preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations
- Able to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects
- Strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
- Possess a ‘can do’ and problem-solving attitude
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of MS office programmes and systems such as project management/payment, and valuation software.
- Hold a current driving license
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying desirable
- Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card
- Experience of at least 2-3 years in residential buying or QS work
