Buyer (Gas & Water)
The role will be accountable for the execution of sourcing materials suppliers & subcontractors, tendering activity, supply chain management, data analysis,
and managing and coordinating communication and delivery with suppliers and internal customers.
The Buyer will be responsible for the line management, training and support for the Buyers on that contract, in accordance with the Project Procurement Strategy and relevant procurement procedures. He/she will also assist the Head of Procurement in shaping and delivering the Gas & Water strategy in Ireland.
Commodity research and spend analysis.
Sourcing (including on-boarding) new subcontractors or material suppliers, in accordance with Procedures.
Conducting tender exercises.
Ensuring compliance to internal policies and procedures across the contract.
Line management responsibility of two Buyers.
Develop strong relationships across the project, working collaboratively, influencing stakeholders including leaders and key decision-makers to drive behaviours and ensure appropriate involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
Regular data analysis, reporting and presenting internally on immediate and future priorities, risks, issues and potential solutions.
Maintain the Approved project sub-contractor directory in conjunction with Commercial / Finance / SHEQ, to ensure al information held is accurate and current.
Develop and manage two Buyers through the provision of direct and actionable feedback, and creation of meaningful development plans/set of objectives.
