Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil)

A Senior QS with Civil Engineering exposure is required for top 10 contractor who are highly regarded for delivering Government projects on time and with in budget. New contract is the construction of c.55m WWTW in South Dublin/Wicklow region.

• Ensuring proper financial control and reporting
• To lead and motivate the Surveyors to maximise profit and deliver the business financial targets.
• To ensure positive cashflow and protect the interests of our client whilst enhancing the company’s reputation for a quality product and a non-adversarial approach.

Candidate will have a Cert/Diploma in Civil/Building or equivalent Degree in Building, Civil Engineering or Building Economics.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years proven experience with an excellent track record of managing profitable contracts to €10 million. 

The candidate will have:

• A thorough understanding and use of a variety of contractual form
• Negotiation and settlement of final accounts and claims
• Familiarity with the tender process and proposals management
• Experience in dispute resolution, best practice and standards in respect of commercial management
• Understanding of priorities relating to procurement and management of construction work

Excellent management skills, the ability to negotiate with clients/consultants and sub-contractors, and to develop staff to improve their knowledge is a distinct advantage.  Excellent communication skills and a commercial business approach are also required.
