Description

Calibration & Quality Technician - Cork.

This is initially a 6 – 12 month contract but could go longer.

The role has responsibility for engineering oversight of metrology equipment & inspection measurement techniques & practices during production of medical devices.

Ensures compliance by maintaining and enhancing the quality system tools and documentation.

Under general supervision undertake tasks related to the maintenance and enhancement of the ISO13485 approved Quality System.

 

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for quality related activities across a broad range of services and activities, including, but not limited to the following:
• Identifies, investigates and manages new and advanced metrology and inspection technologies.
• Works with engineering and R&D teams on metrology and inspection methods and conducts technical and feasibility studies. Performs a wide variety of technical work which will lead to new or improved products/product lines and processes.  Programs a wide variety of complex systems and technologies using medium complexity CMM, Laser and Vision/Optical inspection and measurement technologies. Works with the metrology engineer on high complexity equipment.
• Aids and conducts engineering and metrology research including the identification, investigation and implementation of new metrology and inspection systems and technologies
• Will conduct Gauge R&R studies on current and new programs & methods. Will analyze inspection data, gage R&R results and inspection methods to establish optimum process parameters.
• Provide mentoring & guidance to quality engineering function during development and execution of inspection techniques & methods, set-up of metrology practices and selection of adequate equipment. Provide training in Metrology & other related topics. Proficient in geometric tolerancing & dimensioning.

Education/Training:
Minimum certificate in engineering, quality or science related discipline.
Completion of external Quality Assurance related course desirable.
