Design Engineer - Galway - medical device.

In this role you will be responsible for the successful development of product concepts.  

Job Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the development of products from concept through to completion as part of a project team.
• Own and deliver key project deliverables.
• Apply new technologies and processes to optimise product design.

Key Requirements for this role are:

• An engineering, science or equivalent degree, or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 2 - 5 yrs experience in the medical device field.
• Experience of work with catheter technology, catheter design and testing and catheter manufacturing a distinct advantage.
• Experience of medical device design control procedures.
• Familiarity with operating in a highly regulated environment with exposure to ISO13485 and FDA environment.
• High innovative ability and have the motivation to work on own initiative. 
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. 
• Strong mechanical background an advantage with a good working knowledge of polymer materials and technologies. 
• Working Knowledge of Polymer materials would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of operating 3D Cad package SolidWorks.
• Statistical awareness including familiarity with Minitab and advantage
